Scrumhubs – interesting idea but will it work?
By Christian Vindinge Rasmussen, on March 16th, 2009,
So a new introduction here at the Scrum Gathering is the Scrumhubs. The Scrumhubs goal is to continue improving Scrum – naturally – in upcoming scrum-organisations and projects that needs guidance. The first Scrumhub will be located in Boston and will consist of a staff of experts – each with their own line of knowledge. To ensure that more people can reach them they will provide teleconferencing! It will be a non-profit organisation with the help and funding from Carnagie Mellon University.
My hope is that the different professionel Scrum experts wont just be salespeople for the method but do in fact contribute to different businesscases from around the world – and especially I would be thrilled to see some progress in getting a government hub there as well! SO – this is my first goal today – I have to ask about this!
Another thing good thing with a Scrumhub is the fact that they will actually be non-profit compared to the MANY different companies that charges thousands of dollars for consulting – Im wondering if the Scrum Alliance will in fact go into competition with these companies in time – who knows?!??
Well Im off for now – Im going to see Mike Cohn’s Leading Selforganizing teams session later today and ofcourse hear more about the Scrumhubs.
/Chris.
